You'll find yourself in this sewer system pretty often as a good number of achievements are unlocked down here. Also on this side is a sewer system where you can find hidden areas. On the other side of the flag is a town and port area. When we get to important areas, I'll lead you through them with the guide, however there are a number of other hidden areas that I won't mention that you can find if you fancy.Īs part of the DLC, on one side of the Flag of Power, you'll find a portal inside the Town Hall that will take you to special events (I cover this more on the DLC page). You will also find a number of story lines and hidden extras around the Backyard. In the middle of the Backyard, you'll find the 'Flag of Power' mini-game. This battle will continue to intensify until you leave the area. If you manage to enter the base of your enemy (so entering the plant base as a zombie), stronger enemy characters will spawn and try to take you out. There is also a recruiter button that will let you switch sides, from either plant to zombie or vice versa. There is a sticker machine here as well that allows you to spend coins on stickers, that will eventually allow you to unlock new character skins.

Each side has a base in which you can view all your skin unlocks, any mail, select and check up on your daily/ weekly challenges, start Garden Ops or Multiplayer, customise the world and play some story missions (and much more). The Plants are based on one side of the Backyard and the Zombies are placed on the other. It is a large map that is split in two roughly along the middle. This will be your base of operations and also acts as a hub for other activities (multiplayer, crazy ops etc). Sadly however, this feature has now been turned off by EA, and has been in that state since roughly Feb 2017.
